Sure, the Academy Awards are a celebration of some of cinema's biggest films of the year, but while you were glued to your screens all night, anticipating Leo’s big will-he-won’t-he moment, we were busy satifsying our sartorial hearts counting carats.
Dressing to the nines for movie’s biggest night, we watched intently as some of the world’s biggest starlets stepped out draped in jewellery to match their extravagant couture gowns. 5. Saoirse Ronan
Honouring her Irish heritage the Brookly actress made quite an entrance in a lush green cut-out Calvin Klein gown. What we found most interesting about her look was her interesting choice in jewellery- a trendy pair of mismatched Chopard earrings in emerald, jadeites, pearls and diamonds. Sporting the season's biggest jewellery trend, we simply had to add her to our list.
4. Olivia Munn
While Saoirse was hitting the more svelte looking Olivia Munn arrived in an elegant tangerine Stella McCartney creation paired with a one of the most unique pieces of jewellery at the red carpet – a magnificent Forevermark by Jade Trau serpent diamond cuff bracelet.
3. Brie Larson
The stunning Brie Larson doesn’t just deserve her golden statue but also a spot on our list. Looking effortless in an azure Gucci gown, she pulled her look together with glittering Niwaka jewels- a pair of dainty diamond and pearl earrings, and a pretty brooch pulling her blonde locks from her face.
2. Naomi Watts
Showing off her slender body in a mermaid- like Armani creation (picked out by her husband, Liev Schriber), Naomi Watts caught our ornamental hearts as soon as she stepped out onto the carpet. Pairing the glamourous gown with an equally glamourous Bulgari diamond necklace, she definetly deserves a spot on our list.
1. Charlize Theron
Winning the night’s most talked about red carpet moment, Charlize Theron’s look is was every ornamentalist dreams about. Appearing at the ceremony in Harry Winston jewels worth $3.7 million, the starlet wore a 48-carat Secret Cluster Diamond Necklace, paired with cluster diamond earrings, a cushion-cut diamond ring, a diamond band ring and the Queen diamond ring, all set in platinum.
